A Group takes a currency when you create it and locks it once the first expense lands, so a trip’s books never get muddled by mixed currencies. Attaching an expense in a different currency asks you to re-enter it — Call It Even never invents an exchange rate.

What’s the difference between a Group and a trip?+

Nothing to learn — a Group is just what we call a shared tab. It can be a trip, a household you split rent with, or any standing crew. (You may still see “trip” in a few places we’re updating.)

Can I add someone who isn’t on the app?+

Yes — add them as a guest. They hold a share without an account, and their balance rolls up to whoever brought them. Guests are billed to their host.

Can a Group mix currencies?+

No, on purpose. A Group locks to one currency once it has its first expense, so its books stay clean. Call It Even never converts between currencies.

What happens if I delete a Group?+

Its expenses become ordinary between-friends transactions rather than disappearing, so balances stay correct for everyone.
