For trips & households

One tab for
the whole crew.

A Group gathers every shared cost — a weekend away or the household you split rent with — in one place, with each person’s share tracked automatically and a clear breakdown of who owes who.

What a Group does

Every cost in one place, every share clear

Spin up a Group with an emoji and (for a trip) a date range, add everyone, and log costs against it. The Group shows a per-member breakdown — what each person paid, their share, and whether they get money back or owe — so squaring up is obvious.

  • Per-member balances — paid, share, and net for everyone in the Group
  • A Group is anything — a trip, a shared house, a project, a standing crew
  • Searchable & paginated — handles hundreds of expenses without a stutter

Bring anyone

Guests who don’t need the app

Someone’s partner or kid along for the trip? Add them as a guest — they hold a share without ever making an account, and their balance rolls up to whoever brought them. Guests are billed to their host, so the numbers always add up.

  • No account needed — a guest is just a name that holds shares
  • Billed to the host — “guests are billed to whoever brought them”
  • Fold them in later — removing a guest hands their shares to the host

No surprises

One currency per Group, locked in

A Group takes a currency when you create it and locks it once the first expense lands, so a trip’s books never get muddled by mixed currencies. Attaching an expense in a different currency asks you to re-enter it — Call It Even never invents an exchange rate.

  • Currency locks — after the first expense, so history stays consistent
  • No FX guesswork — amounts are recorded as entered, never converted

Good to know

Frequently asked

Nothing to learn — a Group is just what we call a shared tab. It can be a trip, a household you split rent with, or any standing crew. (You may still see “trip” in a few places we’re updating.)
Yes — add them as a guest. They hold a share without an account, and their balance rolls up to whoever brought them. Guests are billed to their host.
No, on purpose. A Group locks to one currency once it has its first expense, so its books stay clean. Call It Even never converts between currencies.
Its expenses become ordinary between-friends transactions rather than disappearing, so balances stay correct for everyone.
