How it works

A separate balance for every currency

Each expense is recorded in the currency you actually paid in, and Call It Even keeps a distinct balance per currency with every friend and Group. Amounts in different currencies are never added together — because a real €10 and a real $10 are not the same, and pretending they are is how splits go wrong.

Does Call It Even convert between currencies?+

No — never. Each expense stays in the currency you paid in, and balances are kept separately per currency. Nothing is ever converted or summed across currencies.

Why doesn’t it just show one total?+

Because exchange rates move and a converted total would be a guess that’s wrong by the time you settle. Keeping each currency separate is the only way to stay exact.

How do I settle a trip in two currencies?+

Record one settlement per currency. Each payback clears a single currency bucket, and you’re “settled up” once every bucket is zero.

Which currencies are supported?+

Over 50, including USD, EUR, GBP, INR, JPY, CAD, and AUD, covering both two-decimal and zero-decimal currencies like the yen.
